Protaras Bowland Cyprus
The Bowland Protaras is situated on the main strip in Protaras, slightly before the center and located just opposite the local Parking for easy access from outside of Protaras itself. It is also an upper level bar, not on the ground thus restricting sadly people in Wheelchairs.
We were invited to the opening night for 2011 and for a Blues show, more on that later. So, apart from the Bowling facilities what else is there for the Tourist to come and visit the place? Well, starting with the Bowling Alley itself which is a 3 Lane Alley with a computerised system and screen so all the family can follow the game. This is located on your right hand side as you come up the stairs into the place. There is also room for sitting at tables too so you could enjoy a meal or/and a few drinks as you wait you turn. Furthermore, the position of it also enables you to see any live shows happening without having to get up.
On the otherside, is where the bar is found and where there is enough space for numerous tables, and also a Pool Table too. In the corner diagonally opposite bar there is 3 Internet Computers and 2 Playstation 3 Systems which are also on line as well as the old flat arcade machines (which back up as table too if wanted!!). As you can see, there is something for everyone even without any shows. Furthermore to the place, there is also an outside veranda to sit at and enjoy the view out into the Mediterranean Ocean (especially during the day/early evening) or across the Protaras main road and watch as the people pass by or are stuck in the August traffic jams!!
So, that's the setting of the place so now on to the event of the Opening night with the Tony Blues Show, a one man tribute to the Blues Brothers & more! What can we say about him before we include a picture (which incidentally has already been posted for our Facebook friends), he was brilliant. He got the crowd going, joked with them but with his own style. His singing was excellent and performance as a whole spot on. The people who were there also enjoyed it as much as we did and must also mention the free buffet on offer which covered the Pool Table on the 1st night. (Of course the Table was covered!!).
So, overall you have a place which fits Protaras perfectly and with live shows and/or Karaoke too it is a place you could visit and not just during the night.
