In and around Paralimni and the areas of Protaras, Pernera, Kapparis, Ayia Triada and Konnos, Recycling points have been put up for residents & tourists alike to place their waste into the correct container for collection to be recycled.

For the time being, "waste" is split into 3 sections: Paper (Brown), Glass (Green) & Plastic, Metal and Drink Cartons (Blue).

Starting with the Paper Category: You can place into the Brown Bins the following items:

Paper packages & containers of:

• Medicines
• Shoes
• Cereals
• Appliances
• Newspapers
• Magazines
• Advertising Leaflets
• Office Paper

In the Glass Category and place into the Green Bins you can put

• Glass Bottles
• Glass Vases
• Other Glass Containers

Before placing any of the Glass items into the Green Bins, make sure that there is nothing left inside and that you've washed it slightly with water.

Finaly, the PMD (Plastic, Metal and Drink Cartons), the Blue Bins which you should place in the following things:

Plastic Bottles and Containers of:

• Water
• Milk
• Orange, Lemon and other squash bottles
• Juice
• Cleaning Material
• Restoring Material
• Liquid Soap & Shampoo
• Washing Powder & Liquid
• Conditioner & Freshener

Metal Packages:

• Tins
• Beer
• Coffee Drinks
• Soft Drinks
• Metal Packages & Tubes
• Small Aluminium Disks
• Metal Closures

Paper-based Drink Packages: (Tetrapak Type)

• Drinks
• Milk & Cream
• Wine & Other Drinks
• Juice

Before placing any of the PMD items into the Blue Bin, make sure that there is nothing left inside and that you've washed it slightly with water.

After sorting them out you need to know where these bins are placed. There are 24 (Twenty-Four) points of collection within Paralimni's limits. These are as follows:
